[ New To The Assassin ]
I really really like my assassin, I just got factions and I enjoy playing him. I know way way to little sence I have always played the Ele class.
While I like my sin I am having trouble understanding what a sin needs in terms of armor upgrades, and what not. I assume he is close combat, and hes going to want to have some type of energy management and armor + armor stats.
I am still in the starter area, I have no elite skills yet and still wearing started armor, trying to save up for max armor or elite.
I am at the point of where I am in the area doing To the Rescue, I am finding myself dying quite a bit, and I assume I dont have upgrades or better armor because of it. I did craft myself some basic daggers then the ones I had.
So my question is this to those exp with a sin. At what point shall I upgrade to better armor, and what upgrades shall I be looking to get for my sin as well as weapons?
Thanks...

As soon as you can reach the point to get max armor, get it, and if you find yourself dying a lot, buy the best you can, it's very cheap in starter isle.
Weapons you'll want a few sets.
For daggers you want a pair of zealous and a pair of vampiric, not so much sundering. 15^50 health damage, and a +30 fortitude mod on both, and customize them for additional 20% damage

Okay, I went with a A/E as a 2nd profession, I was kind of unsure but noticed most people are with A/E. Now that I have seen it, I kinda wish I would have went A/D or A/W? I was kind of confussed as to which one I wanted to go for. However I went with A/E because I do like the armor buffs.

Most A/E run perma assassin with shadowform, besides that skill set I don't recommend A/E
If using daggers /W with save yourselves is a great option
/D is best with wounding strike crit sin

You can once you have completed "Nahpui Quarter" which gets you "wei no su" closer to the stars blah blah and ascended. You will then be able to change secondary freely.

Assassins strike from the shadows as it were. Try not to be first into battle and take all the aggro, especially if there are casters in the mob.
Get a little no attribute required longbow. These do not have a marksmanship requirement. Damage 7-11. A pulling bow. Put that in one of your weapons slots.
Initiate combat with that. Have a warrior hench in the group. Let the warrior go in and take the aggro. This will happen while you fire maybe two shots as an archer. Now, switch to daggers, go in.
Stay mobile. Note that double clicking on a party member's name will make you run to that party member. This can help keep you mobile or get you to your monk quickly if the monk is getting ganged. There are skills that increase your mobility a lot also.

Also, don't let yourself get frustrated. The factions missions are some of the hardest for assassins due to lots of enemies that explode in your face and very little time to recover between fights (Naphui, Temple, etc.). Nightfall was a breeze, in comparison.
When you hit the mainland, it's very likely you'll get your clock cleaned, particularly if you're not 20 yet. Make sure you max your health and avoid sup/major runs (the AI likes to target weaklings and they'll chew you up if you're the target).
As a last resort, if you find the mainland too hard and you have the other expansions, you can go run some of those missions just to level up to 20 before taking on the rest of factions.

I died all the time in factions with my sin and also took elementalist as my secondary profession. I just got to the main land and went into EotN from there I got to level 20 and got max armor then went back to completing factions.

Don't let these guys scare you.
Factions is fast-paced, yes.
But not scary if you know when to charge in and when not to.
Afflicted only eat you if you let them.
n__n
Seitung Harbor has a good, cheap, tide-me-over armor until you can get your max. :3
Zealos daggers are unneeded for the most part, if you're smart, you won't need them ever.
People only go /W for "Save Yourselves!" and the ability to remove stances without landing a lead. :3 [I.e. Wild Blow]
Don't leave home without some form of Protection. :]
Professor Gai, Seaguard Gita, Redemptor Karl, homebrew monk hero. :]
Avoid shadowsteps, they usually lead to being pwn't.
And don't let the assassin hate in PuGs get you down. :]

if by smart, you mean, not spamming your attack skills on recharge to produce obscene amounts of armour ignoring damage, then yes, its very smart to not use zealous daggers.

I spam on recharge and don't have energy issues enough to need them. :/
Then again, I abhor Moebius, so I don't dance on 2 of my attacks constantly, completely forgetting after the initial trigger hits that I even have 6 other skills. >__o¿

Yeah, because Leads and Offhands are really good compared to Duals... uh, Blossom.
It's okay if you don't like Moebius Strike, you can be "unique" if you want. But people generally come asking for advice because they want to be more efficient at what they do, it's rude of you to send them the wrong way.
MS/DB ftw, Zealous ftw.

Yup! Although if you're using asuran scan, taking golden fang is kind of moot. I'd rather take wild strike and not worry about stance users at all.

Read the two posts above you
For daggering, get a dagger headpiece with another +1 dagger rune on it, then put a crit rune anywhere else, then load up on super vigor, vitaes, and survivor insignias

I run Defense (+5AL) instead of Fortitude on my main daggers. The reason being:
You have 4 weapon slots available, and it's a good idea to pack a defensive (high HP) set in one of them (basically a +30HP max shield and a +30HP one-handed weapon) to switch to in those rare occurrences that your life total will actually be threatened.
In combat, armour does more for you then HP. But I know I'm being a stickler
